Summer

2019 | Skewbald | Gypsy Cob | Under 13.2hh

Summer will be with us until she has been started under saddle and we can then find a suitably experience home to love and care for her.

This training takes time, skill & patience and is therefore a costly process for us.

We do however, believe it is essential to carefully prepare ponies for a future with children; their lifelong, good welfare depends upon it.

The story so far...

Summer’s dam Womble, came to us having been discovered running loose on football grounds for several weeks. Summer was born with us and right from the start behaved like she had been on the planet before.

She has always been spirited, sassy and certainly not camera shy, always searching for adventure.

Summer has enjoyed endless leisure time, having spent two stints out in lovely foster homes. The first to nanny a newly weaned foal in North Yorkshire and then to Northumberland with our wonderful volunteer Halcyon.

She has been back at HQ for a long while and awaits someone finding time to start her on our training programme.

Douglass

Douglass (named after long-time H4H supporter Katy Douglass) had been ‘rescued’ by well-meaning people.

Denzil

Denzil is innately shy in character and chooses his friends carefully, however, his calm and sensible nature make him popular with everyone he meets.

Perkins

Perkins sadly started out, as yet another unwanted and abandoned foal. He was very lucky to be found before he met a miserable fate, like so many others.

Patrick’s coat was still damp from the birth and he was immediately introduced to hourly bottle feeds.
