Virtual Gifts

We use a lot of items day-to-day which we feel are essential to the happiness and wellbeing of our horses and ponies.

Some of these items can be purchased quite cheaply and some are quite costly.

Please note that you are not buying these items for yourself, but be assured that any product that you do choose from this list, will go directly towards making life better for our residents.

  • Christmas Stocking

    £5.00£100.00

As we approach the ‘season of good will’ the Here4Horses team are particularly grateful, not only for what we have achieved but also the many lovely people who have made it all possible.

It is a time for all of us to show kindness to others and often involves the giving of gifts.

If you would like to give a little something for our resident herd to enjoy over the festive period they would be very grateful – just like us!

  • These high fibre nuggets come in 20Kg sacks and have permanent residency in our feed room.

They are so handy to feed from the floor if necessary and they also double as a clicker training food reward, when we are teaching our horses and ponies new behaviours.

  • Donate: Bale of Hay

    £4.00£25.00
Every day is a ‘hay day’ when it comes to horses and ponies. We literally use tonnes of the stuff to keep every hungry mouth happy. But don’t worry, you won’t find a bale of hay on your doorstep – it is purely a generous donation from you.
  • This is the original antiseptic wound gel invented by Thomas Pettifer & Co.

The original Green Oils combines an antiseptic agent ‘chloroxylenol’ with natural oils to create a formula that soothes minor wounds, cuts and abrasions.

We have used this product for decades on mud fever prone horses to help loosen scabs, to deter flies and midgies in the summer and to protect sheaths and udders from biting flies too. It also gets used instead of Vaseline for lubricating thermometers!

    We wouldn’t be without it.

  • The Robinson Healthcare Horse and Rider First Aid Kit offers a handy kit of first aid essentials for both horse and rider, all contained in a convenient easy to see, wipe clean bag with carry straps. The kit is ideal for first aid treatment whilst away from home.

We like to have one of these in stock at all times for emergencies or travel – they also make a great raffle prize if needed, when we are fundraising.

    The Horse Kit: 1 Gamgee Roll 30cm - 1 Animalintex Poultice and Wound Dressing - 1 Equiwrap Bandage - 1 Vetalintex 15g Tube - 1 Skintact Dressing 10cm x 10cm - 1 Fast Aid Cleansing Wipe - 1 Scissors

The humans aren’t forgotten either with 1 Fast-Aid Travel Kit included.

  • Another favourite hoof-care product for us - with the benefit of no spill too!

Made from completely natural ingredients, it moisturises and protects hooves.

  • Who doesn’t like a comfy bed? Our residents are no exception! But don’t worry, you can keep your mattress – this thoughtful donation from you, ensures peaceful slumber in the stables.
  • Donate: Meadow Herb Treats

    £3.99£11.99
These Meadow Herb Treats are a yard favourite. They do for ponies what Catnip does for cats! But don’t worry, we won’t be sending you a bag – it is purely a kind donation from you to help brighten their day.
  • Mudcontrol mats can make such a difference, during the awful wet weather conditions we seem to experience these days.

You can purchase a single mat (or as many as you like), to help our horses, ponies and peeps to tread safely.

Size: 50cm x 50cm per mat. Please note, you are not buying this item for yourself - it will go directly towards making life better for our residents.
  • This product is specifically used to protect skin from the damaging effects of the sun and help with hyperpigmentation problems.

It is suitable for even the most sensitive horses, thanks to its dermatologically tested formula, without any irritating fragrances.

We have several horses and ponies prone to sunburnt muzzles – on the rare occasions the sun does shine in the UK!

P20 seems to provide the best protection without upsetting the residents who need it.

  • Donate: Pergolide

    £10.00£50.00

At any one time, some of our horses and ponies (predominantly in our Shetland herd) are affected by Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID), which is the correct term for a disease commonly known as Equine Cushing’s Disease.

They require daily doses of a drug called Pergolide.

It costs us over £1 for each tablet – thankfully some only need one quarter of a pill per day.

If you could help us pay for these prescriptions, in order to keep the ‘old-timers’ fit and well, we’d be eternally grateful.

  • One of the all-important answers to the ‘five-a-day’ for horses or ponies. But don’t worry, we won’t be sending you a sack – it is just a special gift from you that adds important variety to their diet.
