It never ceases to amaze me how much horses are an obsession for many people and having worked with Here4Horses since its inception, I am struck by the sheer enthusiasm for improving welfare for these special animals.

It is a real break from the norm for me to be involved with horses and horse people – and I have to admit it has been a bit of an eye opener.

I am a northerner through and through and originally qualified to Higher Diploma level in Commercial Arts (Graphic Design and Photography) with two years at New College in Durham and a further two years at Cumbria College of the Arts.

As a professional Art Director, I have spent almost three decades in the advertising industry, initially in Leeds and Edinburgh and then in Perth and Brisbane in Australia, before returning to the North East in 2012.

I can honestly say I have never been on a horse (I’ve always been a keen cyclist), however, I have a feeling I may be forced to try a different kind of saddle at some point soon….

I am really enjoying the opportunity to bring my skills and experience to the Here4Horses table, handling the design and photography work for the charity.

I am immensely proud to be an early investor of my time and skills in the creation of both the Here4Horses website and our social media presence.
