Sally

As a Veterinary Surgeon of almost thirty years and previously a practice partner, I feel privileged to be able to tangibly help horses and ponies on a daily basis.

I studied Veterinary Medicine at the University of Liverpool, graduating in July 1992.

I have always taken a keen interest in equine welfare and initially became involved with members of the Here4Horses team back in 2012, when invited to deliver castration clinics aimed at reducing the number of colts and stallions in the North of England.

This initiative, ground-breaking at the time, was hugely successful and we are immensely proud that it was then mirrored throughout the UK as a result.

A place on the Committee of such an important new charity, enables me to be involved in numerous, worthwhile projects such as this. It also allows me to support engagement with horse owners and explore ways to help develop their knowledge – which I love.

I believe the planned initiatives will ultimately allow us to have a broad influence, which can only be a good thing for the horses and ponies that cross our path.

I am a keen racing fan, sit on the Association of Racecourse Veterinary Surgeons Committee and regularly officiate at both Hexham and Gosforth Park meetings. I also provide veterinary cover at Harness Racing events in the area.
