It is with deepest sadness that we venture out as a newly registered charity, without one of our precious founding trustees.
On June 3rd 2020 Mandy Prout, better known in these parts as ‘The Sprout Princess’, devastatingly lost her brave battle with cancer at just 53 years of age.
There is no doubt we will feel her loss forever.
Mandy was an integral supporter of the Here4Horses vision and mission. She was also, an intelligent and mindful contributor, incapable of sitting on the fence.
She was a grafter; ready, willing and able to roll her sleeves up and get stuck in whenever needed.
The dreadful impact of Covid 19, meant that we were all robbed of precious time with her towards the end. Nevertheless, she continued to write and review copy for this website right up until her death.
We will always be so very grateful for her invaluable contribution and have plans to create a fitting memorial to her.
We have many treasured memories of SP – her zest for life and seize the day attitude was an inspiration to us all. As our good friend Marney so aptly wrote in a poem for her funeral, “in the cards we‘ve been dealt Mandy, you were the ace”.
