We are very lucky indeed to have not needed referral services for Veterinary work …until now.

None of our horses or ponies are insured – as the financial burden would simply be too great for us.

However, we now unfortunately find ourselves in a very worrying situation with two of our lovely boys requiring surgery – and we are desperately seeking your help as a result.

The first is Cracker – a 15-year-old, characterful, Dartmoor cross who has been a successful Loanie pony on our scheme.

Cracker presented with a sudden onset hind limb lameness as a result of sharing a paddock with a new inmate.

Scans have revealed tendon sheath issues which will sadly require surgery.

Nicola our vet feels it is likely that both hind limbs will require intervention.

The second pony is Stephen – a much loved 12.2 gypsy cob.

Stephen presented with intermittent near fore lameness – eventually with pain and swelling in the tendon sheath area.

His skin is very coarse and thickened (typical of many cobs) and on-site scanning has proved unsuccessful.

We realise that this is a BIG ASK but we feel that both ponies are worthy of our intervention if at all possible – as doing nothing is not an option. 😟

We are potentially looking at a minimum bill of £3000 each. 😳

This is a massive sum for us to find – but we are incredibly hopeful that our growing number of followers and supporters can give a small amount to help make this possible.

The entire team have fingers and toes crossed for a positive outcome – please be assured that every penny donated will be hugely appreciated and spent very wisely to help these two little guys be fit and well once again.
