We originally met Marilyn when she applied to our ‘Loanie Pony’ scheme and we successfully partnered her with the very handsome Cracker – it was virtually love at first sight for both of them.
A while down the line, Marilyn needed a hip replacement and Cracker came back to base so that we could manage him for her.
He then went lame himself and needed surgery and before we knew it their combined health issues meant that residency here is now a permanent arrangement for Cracker.
Despite suffering many set-backs, Marilyn has grit and determination in abundance and has remained committed to her boy throughout.
She is an enormous help to us; collecting our feed supplies, filling hay nets and helping with general chores on almost a daily basis, in return for cups of coffee and the occasional Mars Bar.
