Paula
Before retiring in 2022 I had built a highly successful hospitality and catering business.
This industry taught me various lessons in achieving and maintaining successful commercial results. I hope to utilise all my business, legal, employment and event management skills and experience to give both direction and support to this important charity.
As a former Police Officer, the welfare of children and young people were my remit for many years, so it was extremely easy to transition to the welfare and care of horses & ponies.
Family ties have seen me assisting with the lifting of very poorly ponies like Heidi, or with night feeds for abandoned foals. Sadly, some particularly tragic cases, can result in a heartbreaking outcome.
As children, my siblings and I were fortunate to spend many happy days with ponies.
Later in life, I have frustratingly developed an allergy to these beautiful creatures, but this has in no way dampened my desire to see horses and ponies loved and cared for.
My own children’s interest in riding was, thankfully (for my bank balance), short lived. I am therefore happy to report that I now own a hot tub, rather than a horse – or two!
I am incredibly happy to have this opportunity, as a Founding Trustee, to help bring about much needed positive change, to the lives of horses and ponies.
